Well it was a very sad day for me, Last Tuesday I went back to Barons and sold 'ARFA' as we have come to call our beautiful white e-type. Not much we could do about it, with an impending move to Australia just around the corner, and Australian import duties being what they are. I cannot understand why you can import £20000 worth of antiques and pay no duty but if it has an engine and wheels you pay through the teeth. Our car sold for £34000 plus buyers comission, I even managed to get Barons to waiver their sellers comission so am happy with the price I got. If the new owner ever reads this then you got a great car pal good lock.

ARFA now in my possession in Southern England. What a stunning car! Still beautiful in every respect and a high quality example. Well done to all previous owners for preserving such a prestigious car, now rarer than ever. ARFA is safe with its next owner with years of happy driving ahead.

Sold by E Type UK of Hadlow in March 2022. Abbreviated and amended seller's description below.

    www.etypeuk.com/showroom/sold/jaguar-e-type-series-1-38-rhd-ots-ab/

First built in June 1962, this original UK right hand drive roadster was originally finished in Opalescent Dark Green over Suede Green with a Black mohair hood. Distributed by P J Evans it was sold just 6 days later with the registration the E Type retains to this date. The earliest documentation in the history file is the reissued replacement green log book issued in Leeds in the early 1980s. The following years saw the E Type pass through a number of ownerships including Royle's Car Restoration near Darlington who sold it in December 1985 to Mr Forbes. He arranged restoration, to include many new panels supplied by Martin Robey. The restoration completed around 1990 and the car was finished in Cream, with Red trim and a Black mohair roof, as seen today.

The car moved to Leeds in 1995 and Warwickshire in 2000 where the new owner put the car through a performance upgrade programme to include 5 speed gearbox, alluminium radiator with electric cooling fan, 6 branch competition exhaust manifolds, oil cooler, high torque starter motor, uprated suspension, electronic ignition, chrome wire wheels, Cooper Craft front brakes withs steel braided hoses and new hood and tonneau cover. It was then registred 81LBP on a personal plate. In 2005 it was sold with the original number re-instated. The new owner commissioned VSE to upgrade the original engine to Clubsport fast road specification, and converted to an alternator and full stainless steel exhaust system. It passed to a new owner in 2017 and has since been used sparingly and been meticulously maintained, only being dry stored. Today the car offers the opportunity to purchase a desirable Series 1 roadster that presents exceedingly well.
