Ebay item 12/12/12
cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid £34,750, no reserve, 10 bids 4 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This is a RHD, UK all numbers match Series 1 Flat Floor roadster with factory hardtop. It was manufactured during Sept 1961 and first registered by Carlisle County Council and supplied to its first owner in Sunderland on the 05 Oct 1961. I am the 4th owner of this car and have known it and its previous two owners since 1969. I bought this car in May 1988 and since then it has been kept in dry storage except that once a year, always in the summer and in dry weather, it is trailered to my local garage where it is started up and generally checked over. The photos were taken during its last visit to the garage in June this year. The body is structurally very solid and completely free of any serious rust. Doors, bonnet and boot-lid shuts are perfect and there is no sign this car was ever involved in any serious accident. All the panels are original, straight and rust free except that sometime during the early 1970s, the previous owner decided to flare the wheel arches with fibreglass extensions to take the wider wheels - as was fashionable at the time. These wheels are currently still on the car although the original wire wheels are included in this sale. At around this time the original opalescent dark blue paint was changed to black, which with the exception of a few micro blisters to the front end of the bonnet, is also in a remarkably good condition. The interior is ok but not very nice.

With a little time and expense this car should sail through a MOT test. The only items which I think need immediate attention are the Clutch ( needs freeing), hydraulics (masters and wheel cylinders), petrol tank (cleaning), fuel lines (might need replacing) and tyres. The car could then be enjoyed immediately with a rolling restoration being carried out at one's own leisure.

I would suggest that viewing is essential not least to see the comprehensive history file.

Strange how this now appears with a chassis number when the vendor of whatever this vehicle actually is refused to give details on the sale website

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
