    Nov. 2011 post in Jag Lovers;
    This car was the first E Type sold new in NZ, and the only external bonnet lock car sold new here. It was sold through
    Shorter Rental Cars (Jaguar Dealer in Auckland), and was road tested and reported in the NZ Herald on 12th September 1961. It was opalescent dark blue. The car still exists but is in bits.

    This car is still in the Queenstown region of New Zealand in the hands of it's present owner who has had it since 1992
    There is a story going around that it has been sold to a UK buyer via a Australian dealer.
    If such a car does exist it is a fake and I feel very sorry for that person who has been tricked

    The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

    What disease did Lucas succumb to?
