This car, one of the original batch of fifty-six released to dealers in July 1961 was piantakingly restored to original condition by Eagle E-Types. The project, completed in November of 2003, was featured in the December 2003 issue of Jaguar World magazine.

A friend remembers the first E-Type being delivered to "Jaguar House", Preston in 1961. He worked in the parts department at the time, and recalls the entire workforce going to look at the most incredible car they had ever seen being unveiled as the covers were pulled back - it was the only car on the transporter. He firmly recalls the original registration number as ET 8, and has also commented that the car had external bonnet catches. If anyone else can furnish further details about the history or whereabouts of this car I'll be very grateful.
