In 1991, Jaguar Quarterly stated that the first owner of this car was possibly the Earl of Warwick, and that the car was believed to be awaiting restoration in England. Dispatched August 21, 1961.

That this car is again subject to a full restoration rather astounds me since it was restored about 1989/90 by Southern Classics and was sold at auction in I think 1992 for £22,000

There is a comment in "Jaguar Driver" magazine January 1982 that this car was owned then by Steve Knight of South Benfleet Essex, England.
There is an entry in the Jaguar Drivers Club E Type Register of that year
(1st Edition) giving the registration number as 313 TVT, and the colour as British Racing Green. It was the earliest known roadster at that date.

When I was shopping for an E in approx '85 in London, I believe I saw this car (offered for sale). It had been restored at that time. I bought 850037 instead. Could be wrong.

Just found this site - and noted Michaeel Scott's comment. I can confirm I did own this car and have Always regretted selling it (in pieces). I bought it in Coventry where I was told it had been found in the Earl of Hinkley's barn in pieces. I had the engine restored and test bed running, before I sold all the pieces to the advertising editor of Classic and Sports Car.
If anyone has photos of the restored car I would really like to see it again, but all in one piece and painted!

I have a picture of this car from 1970, taken by my dad in when he was driving through France. It is pictured with driver and passenger.
