850016 is reported to have been raced for several years by Jack Lambert. In 1991, it was reported to be located in Scotland, and restored "along lightweight lines."

Classic & Sportscar (UK), July 1989, pp 128 on. Sold new to Jack Lambert, Pearl Grey with Dark Blue trim, through PJ Evans of Birmingham and Archers of Shirley. First raced at Silverstone, and won. Regd RL26. Rolled late in 1962 at Wellesbourne. Smashed in a road accident, driven by a mechanic, and sold as a wreck.

"Towards the end of '62 Lambert rolled the 'racer' at a sprint at Wellesbourne. The car was not badly damaged but for the '63 season it was totally rebuilt with a wide-angle head, Weber carbs, triple plate clutch and an aluminium bonnet. It was now very much a racer, and no longer driven to meetings on the road.
"By the end of '64 the car was no longer competitive and Jack, at age 50, felt it was perhaps time to hang up his helmet. One day a mechanic collected the racer to drive it to the local Jaguar dealer. He had the misfortune to lose the 'E' in a big way, hitting a tree or telegraph pole with fatal results. The car was sold as a wreck."

Well have to differ on non competitive!i was at mallory park when jack raced a Cobra you better tell the cobra driver neck and neck JAG 1st ,i changed the plugs and wheels that day! the only reason Jack gave it away was i think when Denis Goldingay was killed taking the car from Archers to a paint shop ,what great times woking on that Car with Robin Beleu
