5/23/09 Offered for sale on Ebay: cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-Jaguar-XKE-E-type-4-speed-Coupe-57K-SURVIVOR_W0QQit .... Selelr's description:
1971 Jaguar XKE SII 4-speed Coupe. Olde English White/Black leather. Three-owner car with 57K original miles. The original owner is said to have been 20th Century Fox Studios in Hollywood where it was used briefly in the television show "Mannix" before being stored and eventually sold off in 1974 to the second owners. Today the car has to rank as one of the most pristine, original survivors of its type in the world. Mostly original paint and all original and quite beautiful interior. All original under the hood with lovely frame rails. Matching numbers, of course. No rust ever. The car needs nothing, as we have just preformed several minor repairs in our shop. These were done by technicians who have been with Monte Shelton Jaguar since the early '70's and worked on these cars when they were new. You could search for years before you could find another stunningly original and wonderfully preserved XKE such as this one. Ready for the JCNA Preservation Class. Expensive.

Please call Bill Penny at (503) 209-5510 to answer all your questions!

This 1971 Jaguar XKE is a Series II coupe that was built in August 1970 and was acquired by the current owner in 2012. The car is finished in white over black leather and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Triple SU carburetors have been installed, and additional equipment includes chrome wrap-around bumpers, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, and a Sony cassette stereo. The car is said to have been recently recommissioned after longterm storage, and service performed in preparation for the sale included an oil change and replacement of the fuel pump, spark plugs, and battery. This Series II XKE is offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner in Indiana with a jack, removed parts, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Illinois title.

The car is finished in Old English White and features hood louvers and chrome wrap-around bumpers with overriders. The seller notes that the rear fenders were refinished under previous ownership, and areas of cracked paint and rust are visible. The removed side mirrors are included in the sale.

Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in 205/65 Dunlop D65 Touring tires. Factory equipment includes an independent rear suspension and four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rears. The seller notes that the rear shocks were recently replaced, and a knock-off hammer is included in the sale.

The interior features black leather seat upholstery with a matching dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a heater, manually-operated windows, and a Sony cassette stereo.

A leather-wrapped Moto-Lita steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer indicates 58k miles, approximately 100 of which have been added during current ownership. True mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six has been fitted with triple SU carburetors, and recent service is said to have included an oil change and replacement of the fuel pump, spark plugs, ignition leads, distributor cap and rotor, and battery. The removed carburetors and intake manifold are included in the sale.

Block stamping 7R13203–9 matches the number listed on the chassis plate and the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate below.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. Rust is visible on the exhaust components.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists factory trim, equipment, initial delivery to New York, and a dispatch date of September 8, 1970.
