    Car currently listed on EBay:

    Description
    Item Specifics
    Jaguar : XKE
1971 Jaguar E-Type XKE Coupe Series II

    Miles: 91989 Doors: 2 doors
    Transmission: Manual Interior: Green
    Engine: 6 - Cyl. Year: 1971
    VIN Number: 2R28217 Exterior: Green

Vehicle Description: This is a 1971 Series II coupe in great original condition. A three owner car, the second owner bought it in 1972 and kept it until I purchased it in Oct 2002. At that time my intention was to keep it and restore as necessary over time, but my son's grad school comes first so I must reluctantly sell it. It is straight, rust and accident free. It has been garage kept and over the past ten years has only has periodic recreational use. The car is basically original and unrestored except as noted in the following.

It was repainted its original British racing green in 1992. There is some minor paint chipping, but all in all a very professional paint job in very good condition. When the car was repainted all rubber around the windows, doors and chrome was replaced and remains in good shape. All glass is free from chips and cracks. Chrome is very nice.

Tires have only a few thousand miles on them and chrome wires are in excellent shape. The interior is original dark green leather with norman wear and some cracking on the seats. Dash is in fine condition with a few small cracks on the underside above the glovebox. The back deck is very nice with no tears or cracks. The headliner is in excellent shape. All gauges, switches and knobs are functional, with the exception of the air conditioning. It was not blowing cold when I bought the car and to date I have not had it checked out. The clock works, but may lose a bit of time if the car sits for a while. The original radio has been replaced with an Alpine tuner/CD. I kept the original radio should you want it.

Oil pressure is 40+ at 2000 RPM and it does not overheat.

Since I acquired the car, the following maintenance has been done by a local Jaguar shop:

Replace clutch master and slave cylinder, replace dual mufflers, replace blower motor, replace ball joints, front shocks and tie rods, replace all hoses, belts and thermostat, pressure test cooling system, compression test (145/145/150/140/1458/135, replace motor mounts. It has a current VA safety inspection.

This is a fine example of an unmolested, original E-Type and can be used as an every day driver. I have attempted to describe the car as accurately as possible, but you should keep in mind that the car is 32 years old.

With 3 days 21 hours left on the auction the current bid price after 15 bids is US $7,600.00 (Reserve not met)

    Car has been relisted:

    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

Seller's comment was: "The car is being relisted since the high bidder believed the car to be a 2+2 (which it is not) and has retracted his bid."

Previous auction had 30 bids to a price of US $16,300.00 (Reserve met)

Seller has also added the following info to the auction description: "Last evening I went over the car with a prospective purchaser and noted minor surface rust in the spare tire well and on the driver's side floor. Note that this is just surface oxidation and does not affect the integrity of the body."

    Hello Stephen:
I recently entered my e-type on this web site. It is #2R28216! This date, 3/18/04, I entered an image on the page. It should be listed soon. Take a look. For sure, it's facinating that your car 's # is only one above mine.
    Best regards: Donn
