Current bid $15,100 reserve not met, 5 bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Santa Barbara, California. 107k miles.
Sellers description:
1971 Jaguar XKE 4.2L Roadster. Finished in its original Regency Red over Black leather interior, this rust free, all numbers matching, original E-type is as solid as you will find. As the photographs illustrate and its extensive documentation supports, this car has been beautifully kept by its two meticulous owners over the course of the last 40 years. This is an absolutely superb E-type roadster, deserving of any collector.
The car's aesthetics are immaculate. The paint is deep and blemish free (no scratches, dings, ripples, etc). The car is as straight as it came from the factory. The soft top is new and correct. The chrome is original and in excellent shape. The chrome wire wheels are exceptional and the red wall tires are new. The interior is gorgeous. The leather is free of wear, the dash is free of cracking/warping, the steering wheel is perfect, the carpets are excellent, and everything seems to function as it should. There are no surprises with this Jag. This car can easily be shown, but is also the ultimate weekend driver. You will get attention and thumbs up wherever you go.
You cannot make any complaints about the mechanical condition of this solid roadster. The records document its superb running condition. The engine and transmission were both rebuilt. This car never smokes, always starts up under cold conditions, and feels as tight as it possibly can on the road and highway. No unusual noises, vibrations, smells, etc. I am more than happy to help facilitate a mechanical inspection of the vehicle.
I have had the pleasure of driving this beautiful roadster over the weekends in Santa Barbara, California and I can't think of one bad thing to say about this car. It has been a real pleasure for me, and I hope that it can find a good home and please its next owner as it has for the last 4 decades.
