Purchased new in 1970 by Mr Burley C Horn from the Snuffy Smith Motor Company of Dallas. He drove the car until 1973 when he passed it to his son. A matching numbers car, it is fitted with factory air conditioning. Still retaining its original Texas License plates, it has been with one Texas family its entire life

Imported into the United Kingdom from Texas in 2016 and currently for sale at Nuneaton Car Sales of Hinckley. Described as a restoration project, the body is straight and the panel gap and fit is very good with the doors, boot and bonnet opening and closing with solid operation. The underside of the doors, boot and bonnet are also solid.

The bulkhead, spare tyre area and boot hinges are also solid. The bulkhead is in great condition and everything appears original. It will require new floor and sill sections and a re-paint. The interior will need to be re-trimmed. Unmolested, it is a very original restoration project. 50,000 miles recorded. £40,000.

Sellers description:
JAGUAR E-TYPE Series 2 OTS , Blue, Manual, Petrol, 1971 FOR TOTAL RESTORATION
1970 Jaguar E-type Roadster - Just landed from Texas - NOVA Certificate (tax paid)

This car was purchased brand new at Snuffy Smith Motor Co in Dallas TX, By Mr. Burley R Horn who drove the car up until 1973 when subsequently offering it to his son.

This car has been in one family in Texas its entire life, and has wonderful history, Pat recently decided to sell rather than just letting it sit. Still retaining its original Texas License Plates! Very rare.

This roadster is numbers matching, and also has factory A.C. The car is a restoration project.

The body is straight and panel gap and fit is very good, the doors, boot and bonnet open and close with solid operation. If you look at the pictures you can see the underside of the doors, boot and bonnet are also solid. The trailing arm mounts are very solid, the spare tire area is solid, as well as the bonnet hinges. Under to bonnet its totally unmolested, the most original project I've seen for along time. The bulkhead is in great condition, everything looks original. I have made no effort to start the engine, I have done a anything, simple rolled the car off the transporter.

This will require new floor and sill sections before the repaint.

The interior is obviously going to need work consistent with a car that has been sitting for a lengthy amount of time.

The original colour is light blue, and shows behind the door panels as well.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
