Winning Bid: $74,567 (USD)
This 1971 Jaguar XKE OTS Series II Roadster is 1 of 1,628 XKE OTS models produced for the year and was purchased by the seller in 1972 with 1k miles. Power is supplied by its original matching-numbers 4.2-liter naturally-aspirated DOHC six-cylinder with replacement triple SU carburetors. The car has been stored in a climate-controlled garage to protect the Primrose finish and black leather interior. This E-Type shows approximately 72k miles is offered with a photo book documenting the engine rebuild and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
A professional respray in the factory Primrose was applied in 1990, and it is complemented by a black retractable with plastic rear window. The Series II features iconic coverless headlights, larger front indicators, wrap-around front, rear chrome bumpers, and taillights integrated below the rear bumper. Triple windshield wipers are fitted up front and a chrome luggage rack and quad exhaust tips at the rear.
Factory 15” wire wheels are wrapped in tires of unknown age. Remaining tread life is noted as good by the seller.
The interior is trimmed in its original black leather with matching door panels and carpet. The steering wheel and shift knob are wood, and a factory Phillips radio is present in the dash. Cosmetic damage to the passenger-side door bar.
Instrumentation is framed by a 3-spoke steering wheel with E-Type center insignia and includes a 160-mph speedometer and 6k tachometer, gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage, and an analog clock. The 5-digit mechanical odometer indicates 72,681 actual miles, all but 1k of which have been added by the seller.
Power is provided by the original 4.2-liter naturally-aspirated inline 6-cylinder, which was rebuilt with three SU carburetors, increasing engine performance from 246-hp when new to a current estimate of 265-hp. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission with a console-mounted shift lever.
All-wheel independent suspension, disc brakes, and an integrated frame can be seen on the underside.
The sale includes the original factory service manual, a photo book documenting the engine rebuild, and two ignition keys.

This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster that is finished in yellow over black upholstery and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a black soft top, a chrome luggage rack, chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, triple SU carburetors, quad exhaust outlets, and a Philips push-button radio. The car underwent refurbishment work under prior ownership and was acquired by the selling dealer in May 2023. Service in June 2023 is said to have included tuning the carburetors, an oil change, and replacing the alternator and ignition switch. This XKE Series II is offered by the selling dealer in New York with a black top boot, partial service records, refurbishment photos, and a clean Florida title.
The car is finished in yellow and was repainted under prior ownership. Exterior details include a black soft top with matching top boot, a louvered clamshell hood, chrome bumpers with overriders, a driver-side mirror, a chrome luggage rack, and quad polished exhaust outlets. Additional close-up images of the badging, lighting, and trim are provided in the gallery below.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Dunlop SP Sport D40 M2 tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cockpit is equipped with bucket seats with headrests trimmed in black upholstery, along with a color-coordinated dash pad and door panels. Appointments include an analog clock, a wood shift knob, three-point seat belts, black Jaguar-branded rubber floor mats, a locking glove compartment, and a Philips push-button AM/FM radio. Wear is present on the shift knob. The ignition switch was reportedly replaced in June 2023.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and centrally mounted auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with triple SU carburetors and sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The carburetors are said to have been tuned, the oil changed, and the alternator replaced in June 2023.
