Ebay item 2/17/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Jaguar-E-Type-Roadster-/152439930270
Current bid US $14,100 reserve not met 24 bids 9 days left in auction, seller jaglov10, 153k miles.

Sellers description:
This E-type has been sitting in a garage in Charleston, South Carolina for quite a few years and has been a Southern vehicle its entire life. The owner has been in possession of the car since October of 1983. He lived in Georgia when he bought it then moved to South Carolina. Prior to that the car belonged to an owner in Alabama. It is a matching numbers car (Engine, gearbox and differential are all original to the car). We found the car through a mutual acquaintance and convinced him the car really needs to go to someone who will restore it. In the interest of the car having a new life we are offering it here on Ebay. Our hopes are that it will find a deserving owner who will take the steps necessary to restore her back to her former glory.

The car had been partially disassembled with an eye toward a restoration but that never happened. We have reassembled the car to unitize it for transport or shipping. The engine had been taken apart (see pics) but we re-assembled it for shipping as well. The engine block is in good condition and the standard cylinder bores have no ridge. The cylinder head looks good and has no indication of any unusual corrosion from within. The rods are all straight. The crankshaft looks to be in very good condition too. The oil pan is straight and in very good condition. Though we have reassembled the engine it would, of course, need to be properly rebuilt. That, however, should be a fairly straightforward task. The carburetors look quite serviceable and the rest of the ancillary components are all there.

The gearbox is complete and looks to be in good condition. The differential was still in the car when it came to us and it is complete.

The car comes with the hardtop pictured along with the original soft top frame and top.

As you will see in the pictures, the original gauges are present as are all the switches and accessories.

The car comes with a clear Georgia title and a Bill of Sale. The car is currently located in Augusta, Georgia.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
