Ebay item 6/29/11

Opening bid $20,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1972 Jaguar Series III E- Type

This Jaguar is a nice 2+2 coupe that runs and drives well.

The V12 engine starts readily and runs and idles very smoothly.

It is still the carbureted engine so you don't have to deal with fuel injection and also as a 1972 it is smog exempt here in California.

The car is currently in Ventura CA and has been for the past several years, before that it was owned by a collector in Rhode Island.

The automatic transmission shifts as it is supposed to and it is very easy to drive with its power steering and air conditioning. All gauges are functioning correctly.

The body is in very good shape and appears rust free. It has had two small minimal rust areas repaired underneath. It appears to have been garage kept previously. The glass is all very nice.

The paint is very shiny and has only a couple of minor chips. It is good quality but could benefit from a color sand and polish to bring it up a notch.

The chrome trim is all in very nice condition.

The entire interior has been redone and is very nice. The leather seats are comfortable and the entire interior is like new. The carpets are stunning and the whole interior is a great color to go with the red exterior. There is a nice stereo system as well. This all makes a very pleasant car for your driving or touring pleasure.

The brakes work as they should and the car stops straight. The tires are good and the original wire wheels are in good shape.

It has an original owners manual, jack and knock off wheel tool.

The rear end was recently removed for service and brake work and was nicely cleaned and detailed while out.

The 94,000 miles appear correct but there is no guarantee.

We are a knowledgeable restoration shop and we are selling this Jaguar for a client.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
