Gearbox replaced by Borg Warner (Tremec) 5 speed manual
Heritage Notes
Manufactured 17 March 10972
Gearbox replaced by Borg Warner (Tremec) 5 speed manual
Owner: Jerry
The Series 3 2+2 is a restoration project. I imported it to Australia from the U.S East Coast in early 2016. I've converted it to RHD. Right now the project is 95% complete, with the next step obtaining a compliance plate for Australian registration. (email)Updated October 20th, 2017. Not legal proof of ownership. |

Car at auction:
www.lloydsonline.com.au/LotDetails.aspx&stypeid=0&kw=jaguar&cid=0&smode=0&lid=3020141&pgn=1& ...
Auction description:
1972 Jaguar E Type Series 3
Year: 1972
Make: Jaguar
Model: E Type
Series: 3
Body: 2-Door Coupe
Steering: Left Hand Drive
Drive Type: Rear wheel drive
Odometer: Indicating 3,770 Kilometers
Engine: 12-Cylinder Petrol
Transmission: 5-Speed Manual
Colour: Silver
Seats: 2
Description/extras: Imported from the US in 2016, the car was largely original and found to have zero rust partly attributable to rustproofing 'Zeibart' treatment when new, but also not being driven in salty conditions. A full but and bolt restoration was undertaken, with the body stripped for a bare metal respray in factory original colour Silver, with the interior reupholstered in factory original colour dark blue. The car was converted to RHD using OEM parts and aftermarket aircon fitted. The restoration approach was not to create a concourse vehicle but rather one with an authentic appearance yet practical to drive. It has a new Tremec 5 speed manual box as opposed to to the original under geared 4 speed, a high output alternator, hi torque starter, modern radio and speakers with a classic appearance. Importantly the numbers original V12 has been completely and expertly rebuilt, maintaining the original quad strombergs, but fitted with electronic ignition.
