Ebay item 4/25/22
Current bid: $5,100 no reserve 7 bids 6 days left in auction, seller thevintageauction, 37k miles.
Seller's description:
We are offering this original 37443 mile example of the Jaguar Series III 2+2 Coupe, at NO RESERVE! Resting comfortably in proper storage for the last 8 years (see the pic of the NYS inspection), it was recently professional revived and prepped and is ready for some use.
Being shown in the desirable original Primrose color paint over black leather interior combination. This car is completely sorted with everything on the vehicle working well, as designed. All instrumentation including the clock, interior and exterior lighting are all fully functional. Recent new replacements include, but are not limited to: battery, (4) complete carb kits & overhaul, 12 spark plugs, master cylinder with brake system flush, b/f level float, w/w pump, radio antenna and oil and filter.
It is rolling on Pirelli P400 205/70 ZR15 radials mounted on gleaming chrome wire wheels. The sunvisors and headrest pillows were just replaced with factory original equipment. The interior is in superb original condition with no split seams, tears or wear throughs. The carpets are also original and notice the image of the round build sticker that we found under the passenger side carpet! The floors are solid and the gaps are good. There is some foxing on the wool headliner.
The engine starts right up from cold, aided by a Pertronix electronic ignition system and it is quiet and smooth. The stock exhaust system keeps the interior quiet and produces a mellow V-12 note out the back. Shifting and braking are on point. The exterior paint, which appears to be resprayed, shows typical signs of a car that has been driven and lightly used for the last 50 years, the average being just over 700 miles a year! The factory air conditioning works great also and all the lightly tinted glass in the car is flawless.
The oil pressure (shown) is stellar and there are no noises from the valve train or other mechanical components. The seats adjust easily, windows roll up and down, wipers, horn and directionals are all spot on. We noticed only one small bubble on the lower trailing edge of the right side rear wheel arch. The trunk is complete with a factory chrome wire wheel spare, jack, tool kit, bronze knock-off adapter and lead hammer. There are 2 complete sets of keys and the vintage 1973 New York State license plate will also go along with the car.
We have a Heritage Certificate and a clear transferable title in our possession for ease of ownership change.

The bugaboos that plagued XKEs have all been sorted out with modern, upgraded parts. OVER $20K spent! Receipts from JAG specialist shop included. Here goes: new ignition system (coil, plugs, amplifier, distributor)--the amplifier relocated away from the "V" of the engine for better cooling ; new SU carburetors (done away with the complicated and problematic Zenith-Strombergs); new brakes (master cylinder, booster, and steel-braided lines); new aluminum radiator and hoses (bigger cooling capacity than original); new high-torque starter; new alternator; new fuel pump; and new tires. Drive train, transmission shifts perfectly. All instrumentation functional (clock tends to run a little slow). NO RUST ISSUE--there's one small (1-inch) "bubbling" issue behind the (R) rear wheel. Overall paint: there's hardly noticeable smudges, a few nicks that you really have to look for. Window / door seals all intact. Comes with 2 sets of keys, reproduction driver's manual, a Jaguar certificate with original owner's name and dealer sales tag, factor service manual, repair and component upgrade receipts, SU carburetor upgrade manuals, new ignition system instructions/layout. Current bid $22,500, 1 bid reserve not met buy it now price $38,500, seller Frazier Motorcar Company, 9 days left in auction, 50k miles
Seller's description:
This rock solid California E Type Coupe comes with a plethora of service tickets from British European Motors. The car has been well maintained and is sorted mechanically. Review the pictures posted and one can discern this is a solid car void of rust and rust history. The floor pans are solid and void of damage.
The interior is nice with no cracks on the dash, clean gauges that work as designed, good leather ,carpets, and door cards. The leather on the seats are good and show the natural patina of a 52 year old vintage British Car. The body panels are straight with good panel gaps and no rust. The paint has cracking and crazing with adequate, acceptable finish for a drivers level example.
In todays market ,this car should represent a good value for a 12 cyl Jaguar with only upside potential.
