Ebay item 2/7/16
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-/121887793400
Current bid US $15,100 reserve not met 17 bids 6 days left in auction. Seller distr777, 48k miles.

Sellers description:
This is an original matching number. Never an accident & no holes in floors. 48,000 original miles. Jaguar A/C & wire wheels. Excellent glass (door glass & roll up mechanisms work fluently as well as pop-out back vent windows), no crack dash, headliner, & not bad original interior. Hood, doors, & rear hatch door close/fit as new. Always garaged & no "odors". Receipts from new & the present owners files.
V12; 4 SPEED!
Needs: Complete motor refresh/tune/probably carbs rebuilt. Starts easy but does have what I think is a spark plug causing a misfire pop. Or, could be carb synchronize, vacuum leak issue (one of the carbs seem not working). I can eventually get to tune up & trouble shooting as a favor to the seller, but I am busy so it won't be during this listing. Your CHANCE to get it much less before the small issue is diagnosed & done. It does not overheat or smoke as in oil burn.
The paint is original with 43 years "patina". No bubbles or shredding of concern, but if you are a perfectionist where everything has to be NEW, move on.
BIG NOTE: Not sure how rare V12 accompanied by a 4 speed manual is, but I would guess minimal. It does have a fifth spoke spare rim in spare well (no rust there either). I am listing this for the owner. It has a CLEAR Florida title.

www.charterhouse-auction.com/classic-car-sale-results

A 1971 LHD Jaguar E Type Series III V12 Coupe. Chassis number 1S72480, gearbox number KL1753, body number 4S53430. Old English White with V5C and MoT to October 2020. This original E Type has only covered 46,000 miles from new. A desirable manual version of the last series, this E Type was manufactured o 3rd December 1971 and subsequently dispatched on the 16th to its distributor, British Leyland New York.

It has a black leather interior and sits on chrome wire wheels. There are some lovely original features with the car including the radio and seat belts front and rear. A well presented example which formed part of a small collection. It is offered with a history file containing a list of annual mileage from 1974, and a Jaguar Heritage certificate confirming matching numbers.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
