Sellers description:
Original Black Car!
E-Type Jaguars have always been appreciated and collected over the years. If you are looking for a solid investment that you can enjoying cruising around in, then this V12 XKE is a perfect option. I have appreciated E-Types equally as much as I have Ferrari's yet over the years they have always been out of reach. I was lucky enough to stumble on this black V12 that is a great running car.
It isn't a museum quality car in some aspects, but unlike most museum cars, this one is a great driving car. Though the years it has been maintained and driven. It is a blast to drive and when you stop at a car show nothing compares to opening the bonnet and watching everyone stare down at an amazing 5.3 liter Twelve Cylinder engine!
Paint/Body: Finished in a very nice looking black paint. It appears that this is an original Black car due to the spare tire area does not look like it has been repainted and it is all black under that whole area. I would estimate it to be about 2 years old since it does have some very faint scratches and rock chips. It really is sharp looking and isn't in need of a repaint at all. It is good to cruise and show off now. The body is also in really good shape, there are NO SIGNS OF BODY RUST. I have heard that these cars often rust on the lower doors and bonnet but this car looks great. You can tell this car was kept under cover most of its life. It also has all of its tags and is stickered to meet California emissions of 1971!

Engine/Trans: It has a very nice running V12 engine with 4 carburetors. It is a pleasure to look at and a pleasure to listen to it run. It cold starts off about two cranks, warms up smooth and is ready to drive. It has an automatic transmission that shifts smooth and correct. Like I mentioned before it runs good, doesn't get hot or things you have to tinker with.
Glass/Trim: The glass is all in great shape, no cracks at all. All the headlight and glass trim is good shape. The bumpers do have hazing and dimpling on them, you could re-chrome them or just leave them. Unless you are starring at them it really doesn't stand out. There is a blem on the rear bumper which is pictured. It also needs a new antenna and outside mirror.
Interior: Some of the interior has been redone. The carpet has been replaced with fresh black carpet. The seats have been recovered in Tan and so have the door panels. The top couple inchs of the door panel isn't covered like most cars I noticed on ebay. The dash is covered. I would say the dash is the area of the car that shows the most age. Please see the pics.
Electrical: The headlights and turn signals are all in working order. There are only the speedometer and gas gauge that dont seem to be working and probably need to be reconnected or repaired but all the other gauges work!
Wheels/Tires: Has its original knock-off wire wheels and center caps. They look pretty good for their age but up close you can see that some of the chrome has peeled off of the spokes. Again, its one of those things that you could really just leave as is. The tires have about 70 to 80% tread, but they do have some lite cracking from age and really need to be replaced before a long trip.
It is a good classic car, that you can drive and enjoy now.
