Auction description:
Special 1971 Jaguar XKE 2+2 V12 Coupe
Estimate $25 - $25,000
Lot 0516 Details
Description
Special 1971 Jaguar XKE 2+2 V12 Coupe
VIN: 1S71784BW Mileage: 56000

With a 5.3 liter twelve-cylinder Jaguar V12 engine producing 251 horsepower, automatic transmission, power brakes and power steering, wire wheels and air conditioning. Also with new tires.

Exterior in Burgundy metallic paint, and mostly original interior in black leather. Front seats have been reconditioned, and new carpet installed. While some collectors prefer the earlier cars, the Series III car's performance as a grand tourer makes it the choice of enthusiasts intent on driving, not merely collecting. This car has been meticulously maintained by the current owners, who drove it daily for many years in the dry and arid Texas climate.

A drivers car with only two owners from new; runs and drives great; recent tune up, new tires and inspection.

Condition
Roof has damage that has been touched up with paint, but some creasing remains; adequate fiberglass repair to area under fuel tank; floor pans exhibit some corrosion with only one spot through; incorrect side mirrors mounted to hood are cloudy; otherwise no apparent concerns.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
