Car was sold at auction in '01

    Hammer Price £8250.00

    Mileage 1400

    Colour RED

    Engine No 7531055B

    Registration RSX111J

    CC 5300

    M.O.T NOV 2001

This particular Jaguar V12 2+2 'E' type has the automatic transmission and was first supplied new to America in 1971.

During the late 1980's the car was apparently rebuilt and had further work carried out in the 1990's by a Mr C Wilkinson. It was brought to the UK in 1997 and in it's present ownership it has had all the hoses replaced, a new master cylinder fitted and all the fluids have been replaced. The vehicle is still in it's original left hand drive format and still has the original factory fitted air conditioning which, surprisingly enough, was still working when we drove it recently.

For a twenty nine year old car it can only be described as being in very good throughout with the interior trim being exceptional and although there are one or two blemishes on the paintwork it has obviously been very well looked after over the years.

These cars are still very practical for the family man and this is a very good example which is ready to drive away from today's sale.

    Car returns to auction 5/25

    www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/lot-1971-jaguar-e-type-v12-coupe/

    Auction description:

Pavilion Gardens | Buxton, Derbyshire, 21st May, 2025

    1971 Jaguar E-Type V12 Coupe

    Estimate £25,000 - £30,000

    Registration No: RSX 111J

    Chassis No: 1S71600BW

    MOT: Exempt

In current ownership for twenty-four years

Repatriated to the United Kingdom in 1996

Understood to have been subject to a full overhaul in the 1980s

    Offered with a history file

Chassis ‘1S71600BW’ was manufactured in 1971, being supplied new to the United States of America in left-hand drive guise and with the automatic transmission and factory fitted air conditioning. Finished in striking Red paintwork with Black interior upholstery, the E-Type resided in America until 1996. During this time, understood to have been in the 1980s, the Jaguar was provided with an extensive overhaul and is further known to have been an attendee of the Jaguar Club of Austin Concours d’Elegance in the 1990s. Repatriated to the United Kingdom in 1997 as part of the relocation of the owner, he retained the car until the purchase of the vendor from a H&H auction in 2001 when ‘RSX 111J’ had just 14,000 miles on the odometer approximately.

Used sparingly by the vendor during his ownership, the E-Type has covered a mere c.4,000 miles in the twenty-four years, always being garage stored during this time, and is therefore now offered with a mere 18,000 recorded miles. Fitted with a new starter motor in 2021, the E-Type started readily and ran well during our recent photography session. Already uprated with K&N air filters prior to the vendor's ownership, the original air boxes are accompanying, along with a history file that dates back to 1986 and contains numerous invoices, previous MOT certificates, a Texan state title, pictures of the car, and a current V5C document. A usable E-Type offered from long-term ownership, and with low recorded mileage.
