Private Party Or Dealer: Dealer
This 1971 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 V12 is finished in yellow over black leather and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes chrome bumpers, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, and a sliding rear bench. The current owner acquired the car in February 2018, and subsequent work included replacing the headliner, door seals, and braking and suspension components, resealing the intake manifold, and replacement of the headliner and door and window seals. This Series III XKE is now offered on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, manufacturer’s literature, repair manuals, spare bulbs, knock-off wrench, a car cover, and a clean Georgia title.
The car left the factory in Pale Primrose Yellow and was refinished under previous ownership. The paint shows age and blemishes, the lower intake vent at the bottom of the hood is dented inward, and dents are noted on the front of the hood.
Chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Disc brakes are mounted at all four corners, and the rear rotors, calipers, and pads were replaced in 2018. The power steering rack, upper and lower ball joints, tie rods, sway bar bushings, and rear trailing arm bushings were also replaced.
The cabin is trimmed in black and features front bucket seats and a sliding rear bench upholstered in leather. The headliner and the window and door seals were replaced in 2018. Wear is visible on the seating surfaces and the floor mats. The radio and air conditioner do not work.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 76k miles, approximately 10k of which were added by the current owner.
The replacement 5.3-liter V12 features quad Zenith-Stromberg carburetors that were rebuilt in May 2018. Additional work in 2018 included resealing the intake manifold and a cam tower, as well as replacing the alternator, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel pump, fuel lines, and fuel level sender.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The clutch master and slave cylinders and the rear differential seals and oil were replaced in May 2018. Quad tailpipes are fitted in place of the muffler. Rust is visible on the exhaust components.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists factory specifications and shows a build date of May 24, 1971.
There is currently a lien on the vehicle, and the seller’s lender will need to be paid off before the title can be transferred to the next owner.
