Sellers description:
This E type was the first car I bought. I got it from an older friend the summer I graduated from college in 1975. He left the car at the local yacht club as a second car. I drove it as a second car (summers only) untill 1987. I put the car in heated storage where it has remained until this year. While I was driving the car, I plut on a new exhaust system, stripped the car to bare metal and repainted it the same BRG. During the painting I Pulled the motor and trans. Had the trans completely rebuilt including the torque converter. I did all the work except the trans rebuilding myself. Several years ago my son wanted to get it back on the road, so i purchased and installed some of the parts it needed (header tank, brake master cyl. and servo, rebuilt the carbs, new plugs, battery and pulled the gas tank). I got it running and drove it around my street but never plated the car. The oil pressure, volts, temp and cooling fans all work great. No water leaks at running temp. The trans needs new seals and leaks (23 years of sitting). This is a good original car with matching numbers and original interior. There is one small rust spot 1/8" or so on the hood behind the passenger front tire at bottom. The car needs the following, trans seals, carb. adjustment, head liner, new paint, and some exhaust pipes (muffler and tail pipes appear good. Engine runs but blow smoke on starting. I have all the manuals and many miscellaneous parts.
