Ebay item 2/8/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $6,500.00 (Reserve met), 14 bids, 4 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
CLASSIC - 1971 Jaguar XKE E type V-12. This car belonged to my parents since 1975 and has been stored in the garage for the past 10 years Just needs TLC Has some rust on the hood and some on the body. Black leather seats are in pretty good condition just need to be cleaned. Needs new chrome on grill because she bumped a trash can. Currently doesn't run because of not being started in over 10 years. Would have to be towed to your location. Great for the do it yourself renovator.

Current seller sent following note:

"Can you provide any of the numbers off of the data plate on the firewall (directly
back from the center V of the engine usually). The engine number, body number, and
gearbox numbers are listred there. Does the engine number stamped into the block
match the engine number stamped into the dataplate?"

Sorry, the car now belongs to my father that's in his 70's and I live in California.
the car has never been in an accident to is has all the original parts, engine etc.
My parents got the car in 1975 and it hasn't been driven since 1982. My tried to
change the oil and gave up and it's never been driven since. Needs to be dusted
pretty much and of course cleaned. There is some oxidation on the hood only. during
that infamous oil change my father took the hood off and put it outside the garage
where it stayed for about 6 months to a year. The oxidation is superficial. needs
painting. but otherwise it's all there.

I was fortunate enough to buy this unrestored, original car from Mr. Douglass. It was exactly as described, and is now running after being off the road for 25 years, I am now attempting to find the paint code for the special order silver.

The car has now been restored mechanically, and is in preparation for painting.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
