It's time to let go and find a new home for this Jaguar. I have been the owner of this vehicle since 25-Nov. 1997. (26 Years) This vehicle is a Driver, not a "Trailer Queen". It has been in a R & R status since purchased and driven as desired during these years of work. All aspects of the vehicle, bumper to bumper, have been attended to at various times as the R & R progressed over the years. It is in excellent running condition with no issues.
The #1 Issue: The air condition pump is disconnected due to a failure in the drive hub. The system has coolant and pressure at present, but the pump has been damaged. It appears that one or more of the driven friction disc retainers broke. (AC Off) This resulted in the disc riding in contact with the primary hub creating heat and catching fire. The heat caused pump damage.
The vehicle factory paint color was Primrose Yellow. The interior was all Black. The Black with clear coat exterior paint was done prior to my purchasing the vehicle. At some time before my ownership, there was damage done on top of the Bonett which was repaired and the entire Bonett top was repainted.
This is a NUMBERS MATCHING vehicle and has a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate.
The ASR (American Sunroof Co) unit Is original to the car from the time of the first sale by the original dealer. Presumably in California. My research, over the years, I have found less than 12, E-Type Ser III, with this Sunroof.
There are a number of customization items I have added over the years such as the Water Deflector Shields, above the spark plugs, are made of Stainless Steel and not Aluminum. There is a radiator cooling fan green indicator light on the instrument panel to indicate the fans are actually running. There is also a manual switch to operate the fans if the temperature sensor should fail to function or as you wish.
Most all of the rubber items, Coolant hoses, Body seals, etc., have been replaced at one time or another with new.
The original windshield has been replaced due to excessive pitting and wiper damage. I regretted needing to do this since the new windshield has minimal tinting.
The wire wheels are the originals which require inner tubes for the tires. (Not Tubeless)
The Exhaust System is all Stainless Steel. It is properly installed and supported with no sagging or hanging down.
The ignition system is a Crane Cams XR700 with a PS40 performance coil. There is a brand new XR700 spare for back up supplied with the vehicle, plus an assortment of various new and used original parts, books and literature.
