One family ownership was originally a California car, then in Connecticut for about 20 years, & then Missouri for the past 2 years.

Car returns to ebay 9/3/05, new location; Hamptons, New York.
heart. It is being sold well below JAGUAR BOOK RESERVE. This a 1971 XKE V-12 with 28,602 original miles. I am the 2nd owner. The exterior color is a sable brown (light) with bisquit color interior. Transmission is automatic, A/C, AM/FM Stereo, electric antenna, chrome wire wheels, Michelin tires. It had been in a one family ownership until I bought it 2 years ago.

The car is in very good condition.Has always been garaged. Complete repair history is available from 1985 to present. Recent work (past 2 years) includes Complete new stainless exhaust system (chrome 4 tip). All 4 carburators completely cleaned and rebuilt. (although I just recently noticed 1 of the carburators is slightly leaking fuel which I was told was a minor fix).

There was complete removal and rebuilding of all brakes front & rear (new calipers, check valve, rotors, and master cylinders.) Cooling system, new aluminum radiator & new thermostats. (one rubber hose coming from the radiator needs to be replaced as I detected a leak). The tachometer is new as well as the electric clock. New battery in 2003. The engine runs with a nice high oil pressure.

All paint is original, except where a few minor dings were touched up. In the interior the headliner is coming loose in one corner.

All that is needed is a tune-up/idle adjustment.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
