Privately entered by a gentleman from the Cheltenham area, this particular example of the Jaguar 'E' Type comes with the 2+2 bodystyle and the 5343cc V12 engine and manual transmission. It is believed to have had approximately ú45,000 spent on it to date and the present owner has described the vehicle as being in first class order throughout.
During the restoration work, which was all carried out by Southern Classics of Surrey, an expensive mechanical rebuild was also completed and this, along with all the other work, is fully detailed in the history file with invoices and photographs. Over the past twenty years it has covered a mere 10,000 miles and indeed it is believed to have only covered 71200 miles in total from new.
It has the wire wheels and a full length folding sunroof and this is a very special car indeed, which would grace any collection, and we are sure it will be well contested at today's sale.
Please note: The estimate on this car has changed from the one shown in the catalogue and our engineer noticed that the power steering pump was noisy.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
