Lot 173 at Brightwells of Leominster sale of Classic and Collectors Cars on 15 July 2015. Described as an original RHD matching numbers manual V12 coupe. The heritage certificate shows that it was dispatched to the Automobile Centre in Leeds on 7 September 1971, it was finished in Old English White and first registered WD69. It underwent a comprehensive restoration in the 1980s and was then registered DBE82K. The colour was changed from white to red and a new bonnet fitted.
Recently acquired from a deceased estate, it has been treated to a professional re-spray bringing the bodywork back up to a high standard and it had much of the chrome replaced, including new headlamp crowns, front grill and stainless steel bumpers. A re-commissioning service has seen a new left front exhaust manifold, new hoses, battery and leads fitted. Fitted with power steering and four pot brake callipers the vendor confirms that it purrs as it should. The guide price was £40,000 to £42,000 and it was unsold.

Good history
This superb V12 Coupé is an original right hand drive matching numbers example presented in Signal Red with black leather interior. Its 5.3 litre engine is mated to a manual gearbox and its general condition throughout can be considered to be extremely good. Its Heritage certificate shows that it was originally despatched to the Automobile Centre in Leeds on 7th September 1971, painted white and registered AD 69. The car underwent a comprehensive restoration in the 1980s, at which point its colour changed to red and a new bonnet was fitted. This wonderful E-type was also re-sprayed in the mid-2000s to bring the bodywork up to standard and much of the chrome was also replaced, including new headlight crowns, front grille and stainless steel bumpers. The car is fitted with power steering and is a joy to drive. It comes with a substantial history file including its Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and is ready to be enjoyed.
