This early S3, a right-hand drive coupe with 2+2 accommodation, first left Jaguar's Coventry works in 1971. Bills on file, backed up with a photo record, confirm a bare metal respray which took place around 10,000 miles ago, since when the fixed head has been restricted to dry weather running only. The current mileage (43,759 miles being displayed when entered for the auction) is believed by the vendor therefore to be the genuine total for the car from new.
Current cosmetic and mechanical condition is described by him as being good overall with BRG painted bodywork, black leather interior, 5.3-litre V12 and desirable to have four-speed manual transmission reportedly all in good order. The latest MOT will still be valid until the middle of May and the tax disc until next March.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
