The final incarnation of the iconic E-Type with subtle upgrades for modern driving
Owned since 2009, four previous owners and just 42,000 miles on the odometer
Restored during our vendor's custodianship in 2012. Bare metal respray in the original colour
Upgrades include new 5-speed manual gearbox (original retained), performance brakes, twin Kenlowe fans
The Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirms matching numbers and colours
"Rose Bud" has been a cherished member of the family and is reluctantly offered to auction

First delivered to a Mr F. Hicks of Headington, Oxford on the 6th May 1971, this delightful Series III was supplied by Eyles & Coxeter of Oxford in Regency Red with a Beige leather interior, the combination it wears today. Bought by our vendor, the car's fourth owner, on the 15th September 2009, the Jaguar was to benefit from a sympathetic restoration conducted by Yorkshire Restorations of Baildon. This included a bare metal respray in the factory issued Regency Red, re-chroming, new flywheel, a full engine rebuild including honing the cylinders. Electronic fuel injection was donated from an XJS along with the ECU, which was re-mapped at the time allowing for turnkey performance.

A new five-speed manual gearbox was crafted from a single ingot of aluminium and the ratios were matched to the rear differential, the original gearbox is included in the sale. This work was done by Uryk Dmyterko of E-Type Fabs as was the fitting of front performance brakes. The interior was kept original and the engine bay is a testament to the quality of the work carried out by Yorkshire Restorations. Further upgrades to assist modern driving included the fitting of twin Kenlowe fans and sundry other works.

The history file includes a sheaf of receipts and invoices for the work, and the Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirms matching numbers. The original parts, replaced as part of the car's upgrade, will be supplied with the car conferring matching numbers status.

Regretfully presented to auction, "Rose Bud" has been a well-loved member of the family and is supplied with an MOT valid until August 2018.
