Car offered at:
www.classicdriver.com/en/car/jaguar/e-type-siii/1974/1008178
Seller's description:
With just 50 commemorative V12 E-type open two-seaters produced, our example is one of the 19 fitted with a Borg Warner automatic gearbox, providing effortless performance and driving.
The car is virtually as it left the factory with only the bulkhead having been repainted by XK engineering following an accidental leak of brake fluid.
At half a century old, this car retains its original vinyl soft top, cinnamon leather seats, matching carpets, and black gloss paintwork.
The car has its original service passport, operating, maintenance and service handbook and Jaguar sale and facilities booklet.
The Production Record Trace Certificate, reveal that the car was manufactured on the 10th of June 1974 and supplied to Julians, Reading.
The E-type S3 V12, with its vastly increased ease of entry and cabin space, gives these elegant and capable Jaguar’s long-distance ability in good comfort. Independent suspension, disc-brakes all round, and a direct power assisted rack and pinion steering setup, provides road manners and handling that makes every journey special.
Whilst the V5 shows 5 keepers, the car has been owned twice by the current owner, and the cars 1st owner passed the car to his daughter due to ill health.
The 3rd owner covered a mere 400 miles in the car, so the car has been cared for by two long-term custodians.
Presently the car carries the cherished plate XKE1 which is not part of the sale but can be bought by separate negotiation.
