Will be auctioned on-line by Shannons commencing 8 November 2022. Car is in Sydney. Shannon's price guide AU$160,000 to AU $200,000. Shannon’s description (summarised and edited) follows:
According to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate supplied with the car, This car was built 7 March 1974 and Australian-delivered through Bryson Industries to the first owner in Darwin. The car comes with its original British Leyland Service Passport and its Buyer Protection Service Plan.
There is a note in the Service Passport showing the car was actually first registered in NSW in September 1974 and the early servicing all took place in either NSW or the ACT, where it was also registered. The second and third owners were also based in NSW, the latter using specialists Paradise Garage in the 1990s. Records show the odometer creeping up to 33,678 kilometres by 1997 making it likely that the current reading of 45,248 kms is correct.
This car retains its original Signal Red over black colours, but undated photos on file show it was professionally repainted in 2-pack. The paint remains in good condition with only a few minor blemishes. The carpets have also been replaced and a later stereo installed but otherwise the interior remains pleasingly original.
Offered for sale after several years in professional storage, the Jaguar has been regularly started and driven but would benefit from a tune, particularly the carburettors. Although not in concours condition, this is a great driver-level car and estimated accordingly. It comes with a rare and desirable factory hardtop, a custom car cover and two tonneau covers.
