59,000 miles, on ebay 01/08 seller writes:This 1974 Jaguar XKE-12 is a great original with 52,187 actual miles. The car is completely original aside from minor touch ups on the paint, and is in near perfect mechanical condition. The car has just undergone an extensive engine overhaul performed by a qualified, certified European Auto Mechanic. The rebuild consisted of basically an entire lower end on the motor, as well as a complete Carburator rebuild, and tune up. The car was blowing a little bit of smoke prior to the repairs, and what was believed to be a rear main seal that had gone bad, was acutally much more involved. The good news is that the car is firing on all 12 cylinders like new, blows no smoke, and has basically just been completely overhauled in the engine compartment. Mechanically the car is as expected for a low mileage original. The suspension and steering is tight, the auto transmission shifts smoothly, and the brakes work excellent. This car can be driven today with no worries. On the outside the paint is in excellent condition for a 30+ year old car. There are very few flaws in the paint, no major rock chips or minor dents at all. The car has no rust at all, and to our knowledge has never been in an accident of any kind. The interior shows some wear on the seats, and carpet. The headrests have seen better days, but this is an unrestored original, and can be driven, enjoyed and used the way it was intended without worrying about anything. The dashboard is in good shape, all lights indicators, guages, and switches are working. The a/c blows, but will need recharged. The convertible top is in excellent condition, and the rear window is clean and clear. This car was owned for over 30 years by an avid car collector, it was never smoked in or driven in the rain or snow, and was always kept in a climate controlled museam/garage. The car can be seen anytime with some notice, and really is a great running, great looking car. The owner does not have to sell the car, and is not trying to make a living selling cars. He is merely trying to create some space in the garage for some different projects. The car is priced to sell well below the average retail for this car according to NADA, and Old Car Price Guide as well. The 1974s were the last years of the "Big Jags," this one has had all the bugs, repairs, and maintenance already performed, and this car absolutely turns heads on the road. This car should be enjoyed for a long time, without the worries of repairs and maintenance. Please feel free to email any questions or comments, it is pretty much what you see! Good luck.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
