    Ebay item 12/13/12
    www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-E-Type-V12-Roadster-/121033379901
Current bid £30,100 reserve not met 7 bids 1 day left in auction.

    Sellers description:
I have owned this car for 3 years and it has hardly been used, i have too many others. It runs very well just recently been serviced and MOT'd. A new leather interior was done 2 years ago and all the poly bushes, drives lovely.

I have 12 MOT's dating back to 1991 showing mileage from 31,476 to 34,051, thats just 2,500 miles in nearly 20 years.

I bought the car from e bay 3 years ago and this is how it was listed/described :

"Jaguar V12 Roadster 1974 UK car, dry stored by the same owner for 18 years before me and comes with MOT's back to 91/92.

The car was completely restored 10 years ago by vicarage classics. This is a fine example of this classic car in need of no work just polish and drive (and fill with petrol....... often)."

I live on the Isle of Wight and i am prepared to deliver to Southampton or Portsmouth providing funds have been cleared. I must stress the car is going nowhere unless it is paid in full.

The car has no outstanding finance and is registered in my name.

I've just checked the chassis no on the car152151 which matches the logbook
also checked the engine no in the car its7512860sb wich also matches log book. The numberplate is VME797M that you can see on the back thats 1974 on the logbook. It is totally H.P.I. clear
the milage is 34501 on the car i cannot verify this but i have 12 mots going back to 1991 so it looks genuine?

Having purchased the E-type on 22nd May 2013, I thoroughly enjoyed using her throughout the summer and autumn, before deciding to undertake a total nut and bolt, bare metal total restoration of the car!

To be completely honest there was actually no need for the restoration as she was in really great structural and cosmetic condition inside and out, having been previously fully restored a number of years ago, BUT I wanted to own quite simply the VERY BEST Series 3 OTS in the UK so....

Well, 2,000+ man hours and MANY tens of thousands of pounds later the E-type is fully restored and is utterly magnificent as the down loaded photos testify.

It is now apparent that she is now Signal Red rather than her original Azure Blue, a colour, which personally, I don't think best suited the E-type?

The restoration was completed primarily by myself, I am a retired vehicle designer and manufacturer, who fortunately possess the skills and experience to undertake this enormous task to the highest standards. The only major outside contractor was 'Millenium II' for the body shaping, gapping and show standard paint - all under my personal supervision!

A brief summary of the works carried out are as follows....

Throughout the total restoration every nut, bolt and washer was replaced, all pipes, cables, controls, ancillaries, seals and fixings were either restored to new standard or replaced with OE items where possible to maintain an originality.

During the restoration the opportunity was taken to upgrade those systems which would improve the performance of the car without changing the original appearance.

The engine was stripped and inspected needing only a new water pump. All fixings were replaced and brackets powder coated. The cam covers were chemically stripped, high gloss powder coated and the 'flutes' milled to give an original factory new appearance. The gearbox was fully rebuilt, clutch assembly replaced and mountings powder coated and bushes replaced.

The fuel system was fully restored to new standard throughout with all rubber pipes upgraded to stainless steel braided items for durability. The carburettors were sonically cleaned and rebuilt and throttle rods replaced and zinc plated to new appearance.

The Front suspension was zinc plated and completely rebuilt utilisingPoly Bushes throughout the dampers were upgraded to Gaz fully adjustable gas dampers.

The power steering rack was was fully rebuilt and fitted with new track-rod ball joints. The PAS pump was fully serviced and repainted. The steering column was rebuilt with new bushes and UJ's.

The rear IRS assembly was stripped, checked repainted and powder coated and the suspension upgraded with Gaz fully adjustable gas dampers with ride height adjustment and new road springs, and reassembled with new fixings and rubber bushings.

The brake system was fully rebuilt with upgraded with EBC grooved and dimpled ventilated discs and the calipers fully rebuilt, zinc plated and fitted with stainless steel pistons. The brake lines have all been replaced with CuproNickel pipes with brass fittings for durability and all flexible pipes upgraded to stainless steel braided race spec items. Finally, the master cylinders, servo and reservoirs have been restored or replaced and filled with Silicon brake fluid.

The electrical system was give all new wiring harnesses and all relays and sender units were replaced as was the alternator and distributor service items. The front and rear lights were given new lenses and bulbs. The fuse boxes were replaced and instruments and switches restored where necessary.

The entire body shell, front frames, bonnet, doors and boot lid were totally media blasted to bare metal to reveal any nasties! Fortunately the shell, frames, bonnet, doors and boot lid all proved to be in excellent original condition - PHEW! - and required only expert panel alignment and gapping prior to priming and show standard painting. The reflection down the flanks and around the boot lid and bonnet are exceptional looking like a single metal pressing, the sign of a truly first class example.

The interior was completely restored to 'as new' standard utilising a 'Jonathan Skinner' comprehensive interior package. The hood and hood tonneau were replaced with new Mohair items and the hood frame powder coated in the exact original shade of grey.

The car was fitted with a new set of correct specification stainless steel chrome wire wheels fitted with new latest specification OE Dunlop SP Sport 205 ER15 tyres.

The overall standard of the restoration is full Concours show standard with perfect panel fit and gaps and faultless paint with a stunningly detailed under bonnet appearance. The underside of the car is equally as impressive with full detailing.

Importantly, the car drives magnificently, better than any E-type I have ever driven, yet still feels unmistakably like an E-type should!

Next spring the car will start to be shown and it is hoped I will collect some silverware over the season ;-)
