Opening bid $48,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This 1971 Jaguar XKE Series III V12 Roadster is Light Blue with a Navy Interior and Black Everflex Soft Top. This two owner Series III V12 Roadster, with only 28,755 original miles, is in excellent original factory condition. This is a very early Series III XKE Roadster, so it features the high compression engine with less smog equipment. The original owner in Vail, Colorado purchased the car from Weaver-Beatty Import Car Center on November 11th, 1971 (The original Dealer emblem is still on the back of the car.) in Denver, CO. He traded in his 1967 Series I XKE Roadster on this car, and his new Series III V12 Roadster was optioned out with Chrome Wire Wheels, Radial ply white wall tires, and tinted glass. He kept the car for 33 years and sold the car in October of 2004.

The second owner purchased the car and put $10,000 worth of work into the car which included a new convertible top, servicing and adjusting the clutch, replacing the starter, replacing the alternator and voltage regulator, etc. This is one of the best driving Series III V12 roadsters we have driven. The engine has plenty of power, and the 4-speed shifts smoothly. The nose of the car acquired some stone chips, so it was repainted; however, the rest of the car still has its original Light Blue factory paint which is in superb condition after 37 years. The original chrome maintains a beautiful shine with no pitting, and the Navy Blue interior is excellent and completely original. The second owner replaced the convertible top last year, so it is new with new seals as well. Chassis # IS20076

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
