The EType was introduced when I was 13 years old and I have coveted one ever since. Finally, 55 years later and after retiring I bought one from a classic Jag specialist dealer in Guildford, UK. A very original Series 3 OTS in Signal red with biscuit coloured interior and hood. It looks and drives beautifully. Sensitive upgrades: better brakes, bigger alternator, modern ignition and engine overhaul have made it even better. (email)Updated October 18th, 2017. Not legal proof of ownership. |

Very nice looking car. Drives very well and fast.
Has had very few modifications. Brakes have been updated to more modern standard and are now firm but bite progressively. Electronic ignition has been updated to improve warm starting. Now starts on the button every time.

Sold by Winspeed Motorsport of Guildford in October 2024. Seller's description below:
www.winspeedmotorsport.com/cars/1973-jaguar-e-type-s3-v12-manual-convertible/
1973 E Type S3 V12 Manual Roadster finished in Signal Red with Biscuit trim, manual 4 speed gearbox and chrome wire wheels. Supplied by Winspeed to its present fastidious owner in 2016 during which period the car has had an excellent record of Winspeed maintenance including rear main bearing lip seal conversion, to overcome the common V12 weakness of leaking rear main bearing, Winspeed remote oil conversion, to protect against common damage and Winspeed upgraded dual brake servos. All invoices are held on file and are available to view.
In its previous ownership the car had a comprehensive restoration in 1992, with photos to prove, and covered but a small mileage during the intervening 23 years ownership on account of the owner living abroad for much of that time. Its current mileage is 39,500 miles only. This very good V12 roadster echoes the Winspeed ethos; a very good, well maintained UK RHD matching numbers example, itching to be driven wherever the spirit takes you.
