$75,000 - $100,000 USD | Offered Without Reserve

United States | Amelia Island, Florida

22 May 2021

Chassis No. 1S 20029

Engine No. 7S 3710-SA

US Title

Early and desirable V-12 Series 3 OTS with small bumperettes

British Racing Green over tan leather

5.3-liter V-12 engine paired to a four-speed manual transmission

Benefits from a previous restoration and nearly $10,000 USD of recent servicing completed in January 2021

The attractive roadster offered here is an early V-12 Series 3 Roadster, or Open Two-Seater (OTS), example produced during the 1971 model year, which is presented wearing the correct and desirable “small” bumperettes. The car’s early history is unknown, though it certainly benefits from a previous restoration in the signature Jaguar livery of British Racing Green over tan leather. The interior features a full suite of Smith’s instrumentation, factory radio, and air conditioning; correct details specific to early Series 3 cars of this type include the straight handbrake lever, fantail exhaust, and leather-wrapped steering wheel. A matching tan cloth top is fitted behind the rear seats and provides ample all-weather protection. This tidy and presentable Series 3 Roadster is perched upon a set of 72-spoke chrome wire wheels shod in a set of Toyo Extensa narrow-whitewall tires befitting a period-correct aesthetic.

In January 2021, the car was treated to an extensive servicing at Lamborghini of Houston which included the fitment of a battery, spark plugs, engine air filters, fuel filler neck, and additional line items. A complete paint correction regimen was also completed at this time.

As the very last series of E-Type, this car occupies a special place in Jaguar history. This example offered here is sure to attract the best kind of attention, whether upon brisk drives or weekend exhibitions.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
