1973 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 (Fire Damaged)
Chassis Number: 1S1743
This fire damaged Series 3 is a Matching Numbers car with Heritage Certificate. Original exterior colour Signal Red with cream interior. This E-type is fitted with its original 4 speed synchro gear box.
This represents a fantastic opportunity to buy a highly desirable E-type cheaply and put your own mark on this iconic car. As one of the leading E-type restoration companies, E-Type U.K. would be able with the restoration.
Description of Fire Damage
The fire damage was the result of a heater motor fire which ignited in the engine bay, spreading along the near side of the engine with damage including the heater box and radiator. There is clearly significant smoke discoloration as evident in the pictures.
Major components that will be required:
Engine Frames
Heater box & matrix
Radiator & Cooling hoses
PAS Pump
Ignition System & HT leads
Washer Bottle assembly
Engine Bay wiring looms
Front Suspension bushes (Still good condition but may be sensible to replace)
Front Dampers
Signal Red and cream interior were original to the car before the fire, the heritage certificate exterior colour was silver and still be seen on the floors, frames and under the signal red.
To confirm the insurance status of this vehicle, this is recorded as a category D which is as follows:
"Cat D cars have sustained damage, once repair work is complete, they can be returned to the road"
