The home market Series 3 E-Type offered, vacated Jaguar's legendary Brown's Lane factory in 1972. It is finished in Silver Metallic and trimmed in Black leather. The vendor informs us that "every item" of 'SCK 104K' was dismantled as part of a ground up restoration completed in August 2003; since when this charismatic cat has apparently covered just 1,250 miles. The vendor currently considers the bodywork, paintwork, V12 engine and overdrive manual gearbox to all be in "good" order. The Jaguar is being sold with MOT into August.

Auction description:
1972 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster
Estimate: £80,000 - £100,000
Registration No:SCK104K
Chassis No:1S1268BW
- Comprehensive Professional Restoration
- Current ownership 17 years
- Matching numbers car
- Mot 1st May 2019
- The vendor purchased the car "as a failed restoration project" in 2001. The body had been part dismantled, the engine gearbox and drive train were out, and there were boxes of parts.
By 06/2002 The body had been completely stripped , parts replaced where essential, rot cut out, lead filled and repainted in the original colour.
From then to 08/2003 all mechanical parts were either completely rebuilt, ( engine and gearbox ) or replaced ( differential, hubs etc ). There were new road wheels, electrics etc as necessary for as stated by the vendor "a total rebuild to better than new showroom condition "
In looking for a project car the "must haves" were Series 3, Convertible, original British registered RHD with matching engine and chassis numbers. The specification changes the vendor made were to fit a manual gearbox with electronic overdrive, interior colour to red from black and roof trim to blue from black.
The car was supplied by Ritchies of Glasgow in April 2002 as an automatic , but at some point was changed to a manual g/box.
Over the best part of 3 years the car was completely renewed to better than new showroom condition.
The car has been in current ownership for 17 years and confirm that the total mileage driven from the 2001 -2003 rebuild is correctly recorded on the odometer as less than 2000 miles. The vendor advises us that the car drives very well.
