Car to be at auction 12/15

www.barons-auctions.com/auction_details.php

Auction description:

First Registered: 1972 Registration No: EKP 348 K

Mileage: 100009

Chassis No: 1S1060

MOT: None

The Vendor acquired this RHD Manual V12 E-Type Roadster in 1997, and the previous owner acquired it in 1977,with 5 recorded keepers before that. The vendor had major works done to improve and upgrade the car including. Later Jaguar Fuel Injection engine and ancillaries air con, and a six speed gearbox conversion (details to follow) . The car was then taken to Cyprus where the vendor had a home, but it was so expensive to register there that it was put into storage. Whilst it was there the carpet was eaten by ants so the car was sent to a local repairer who removed the seats etc to repair, but never finished .The car was removed from here and sent to storage where it was badly stored and wiring was eaten by what is believed to be mice. The years in storage have taken their toll and the car will need some renovation and recommisioning . It is hoped to get the car running and driving before going to Auction and we will update this description when this is done. A Great chance to acquire a Series 3 E-Type Roadster with very desirable upgrades as listed below.

Chassis Number 1S1060

Engine Number 7S385858

Fitted with Richmond six speed gearbox

Recent restoration

Offered without reserve

Originally registered on 6th March 1972, this Jaguar is a genuine UK supplied righthand drive example. This well sorted car benefits from a fuel injected HE engine and a Richmond six speed gearbox, it is described by its engineer owner as being a sensational drive that certainly isn’t for the ‘faint-hearted’. The mechanical enhancements have been matched by photographic rebuild which included a quality respray and the fitting of a new interior, the pinnacle of which is a stunning wooden dashboard with later dials. This powerful Coventry cat has also, reassuringly, received a new braking system. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and recent MoT test certificate, this increasingly popular model is available without reserve.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
