Lot #150941

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster is finished in British Racing Green over tan leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a heater. A cosmetic refurbishment was performed in 2000, and the car was relocated to Canada in 2005. This XKE roadster is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, service records, an owner’s manual, a car cover, and a clean Washington title.

The car came finished from the factory in British Racing Green and was repainted in 2000, at which time the chrome was re-plated, a replacement black soft top was installed, and the rubber seals were replaced. Exterior equipment includes sealed-beam open headlights, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by earless knock-offs and were mounted with 195/65 Michelin Defender tires in preparation for the sale. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. A brake light pressure switch was installed and the brake fluid was replaced in preparation for the sale.

The cabin was refreshed in 2000 and features bucket seats that have been reupholstered in tan leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. A replacement dash pad was also installed, and interior appointments include a Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo, lap belts, a locking glovebox, and a heater. The radio is inoperative.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 56k miles.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The carburetors were rebuilt and the spark plugs and wires replaced in 2015. Work in preparation for the sale included an oil service and compression test.

Engine block stamping 7R5522-9 is shown above and matches the number listed on the chassis plate as well as the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors and serial numbers, along with a build date of June 9, 1969.
