Current bid $30,200 reserve not met, 10 bids 6 days left in auction. 100k miles.

Sellers description:
The restoration began in 2000 on this Jag and over time was completed to what you see today. The current owner bought the car in 2005 and finished the restoration. The retired Aerospace engineer meticulously maintained the car while it has been in his possession. It has always been stored inside in a heated garage. All the work on the car has been done by Sanders Antique Auto, a well-known shop that specializes on their work on all foreign cars. We believe that this is a number matching car but are not 100% sure. The engine runs great and the transmission shifts just as a Jag should. The generator was replaced with Bosch one -wire alternator with electrics in end cap to get rid of numerous switches, relays and connectors made by Lucas. All the hoses and seals have been replaced. Valves with hardened seats have been replaced. As you can see from these pictures this car will stand out in any crowd with its beautiful red paint. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best this paint is a solid 9 per the owner. The car was repainted in 2005 and the car has been driven so it has had a few very minor touch ups down. All the chrome and stainless are in in great condition. The new fabric convertible top was installed by Ogden Top and Trim in Chicago. The black leather interior is also in great condition! The carpet, leather seats and door panels have all been replaced.

Car to be at auction 2/18
www.silverstoneauctions.com/1969

Auction description:
1969 Jaguar E-Type Series II 4.2 Roadster
Lot No.: 547
Registration: PUJ 74G
Chassis Number: 1R9577
Engine Number: 7R5711-9
Number of cylinders: 6
CC: 4200
Year of Manufacture: 1969
RHD/LHD: Left Hand Drive
Estimate (£): 58,000 - 68,000

A US, left-hand drive, manual gearbox Roadster that has been well restored
Nut and bolt resto in the States. Lots of relevant documentation and invoices ($50K)
New Mohair hood, luggage rack, chromed wire wheels and tyres
Returned to the UK in 2015. Light use since
Heritage Certificate, V5c, good owner's file, lots of invoices, fresh MOT, recent service

Originally manufactured in 1969, this beautiful left-hand drive, manual gearbox, Series II E-Type Roadster was finished in Carmen Red with a black leather interior and chrome wire wheels and was dispatched to join its many siblings in the US of A. We understand from our vendor that its last owner in the States enjoyed the car for a good many years before the decision was made to commit to a full nut and bolt restoration. There are details of the work carried out stateside in the car's owner's file which, we understand, contains invoices totalling around $50,000 relating to the Jaguar's rejuvenation. Pleasingly, it looks as though no expense was spared and its appearance is enhanced by a lovely cabin, a new mohair hood, and new chrome wire wheels. Since its return to the UK in 2015, it has been lightly used and dry stored. The car is accompanied by its UK V5c, a fresh MOT, the US restoration and maintenance information, and its Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirming 'matching numbers'.

A smartly restored, matching numbers, bright red, E-Type roadster with chrome wire wheels and a chrome luggage-rack, recently serviced and with a fresh MOT. What's not to like?

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
