I am sad to report that Red XKE Roadster S/N 1R9036 was totally destroyed in a wildfire of Oct. 2003 at 10231 Pinecastle St. San Diego, CA 92131. I was the owner of this car since 1970. It was last road licensed in Texas in 1974. It was peacefully awaiting restoration when the fire struck. It was taken as salvage by USAA Insurance soon after the fire. I believe any report on this car in 2004 is bogus. I had previously reported the existance of this car to a website some years ago, probably in the 90s.

Sending this comment to ID my 2007-06-23 comment. 1R9036 was in the garage of 10231 Pinecastle St. San Diego, CA 92131 when the wildfire of October 2003 destroyed my home and this automobile. I believe that any report on this care in 2004 is bogus. 1R9036 was last road licensed in Texas in 1974, and was moved to California by truck in late 1974.
