Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE Series II Roadster - Original Unmolested Car - Low Miles - Low Reserve !
Starts, runs and drives beautifully, and straight. Lots of power and tork from the strong, smooth running straight-six motor...she just purrs ! Regency red exterior. Biscuit Conolly leather interior with original "mousehair" carpet and mats...excellent condition.
I have owned her for over 15 years. The E-Type was my dream car. Early in 1996 after a lengthy search of almost 3 years, I found this one with only 27,800 original miles. I have driven this car very regularly on weekends, car club drives, events and shows. She has won trophies and was used to promote the premiere of the original Austin Powers movie, by the Regal Cinema Entertainment Group.
When not driven, this car is started and run every week...and since my ownership, it has always been garage kept and covered.
She is a numbers matching car, and has been meticulously maintained by only professional specialized mechanics. The manual transmission shifts smoothly and the brakes are excellent.
This is a very original car except for mechanical replacement parts as time and age have necessitated, replaced with ONLY correct (OEM) parts.
The following parts have been replaced within the last 2-5 years:
* New Front Suspension : Boots, bearings, bushings, seals, tie-rod ends, adjustable shocks, new steering rack bushings
* New front brake lines and brake discs
* Rebuilt 4 piston front wheel cylinders, and calipers
* New brake master cylinder, tandem slave cylinder and dual-line servo cylinder
* New clutch master cylinder
* New correct fuel pump * New (NOS) wiper motor
* New, correct Champion plug wire set and new plugs
* Radiator flushed and filled
* Carbs rebuilt , new air filter and fuel filter
* Newer Optima battery
* Petronix pointless ignition (totally hidden under distributor cap)
* Lucas super coil
Original Conolly leather "biscuit" interior, in excellent condition. Original wood steering wheel. Original "mouse-hair" carpet and mats (no longer available) in excellent condition. Original gauges. Original gear shift knob. Original wire wheels. Original tool kit. Original spare tire (made in England) in the boot.
Tires in very good condition (Goodyear, not original) with 80% tread remaining. Switches work properly. Windows roll up and down smoothly.
Gaps are all excellent . Tan soft top was replaced and is in excellent condition.
Exterior chrome excellent...shines like new. Glass excellent.
Also included are the custom Jaguar emblemed rubber mats, owners manual and, a repair manual.
She is 42 years old and not perfect, but in excellent condition. It greatly saddens me to sell this most wonderful car, but health condition now makes it necessary.
She has been a joy to own. I hope that the new owner will enjoy her as much as I have over these 15 plus years.

Records From Seller's Ownership

This 1969 Jaguar XKE was with its previous owner in Tennessee for over two decades before being purchased by the seller seven years ago and is powered by a 4.2L inline-six paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. A repaint in Regal Red was carried out early in the seller's ownership along with application of fresh undercoating, deferred maintenance items, and installation of a new exhaust system. The car is offered with service records from the seller's ownership, a collection of shop manuals, and a clean Tennessee title.
The car was repainted in its original Regal Red about six years ago, and chip-resistant paint was reportedly applied to the bottom four inches of the body. The finish is described as fair by the seller and has begun to show signs of wear.
Chrome knock-off wire wheels are mounted with a set of red stripe Coker Classic tires, and the seller notes that the rear tires are new while the front tires are nearing the end of their usable life. Photos show the tan soft top in both its lowered and raised positions. A black soft top cover is also provided.
The interior is trimmed in tan leather, with some creasing and wear visible on the seat backs and bottoms. A modern radio has been installed in the center console along with aftermarket Pioneer speakers. Factory Smiths gauges are retained throughout the dash and the seller notes that the speedometer needle shakes while driving. The odometer shows just under 51k miles.
Power comes from a 4.2L inline-six paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The car had been driven minimally over its 20 years with the previous owner, and received deferred maintenance when it was acquired by the seller. A new starter was installed and an oil change was performed in April 2017.
The car received new undercoating during the repaint, and a new exhaust system with aftermarket mufflers has been added during the seller's ownership. Additional undercarriage photos are provided in the gallery to show the floors, running gear, and GAZ shocks.
