Sellers description:
Custom Designed 1969 Jaguar XKE
Offered is a customized XKE designed by Famous Hollywood Designer Harold Belker who has created many classic designs from Minority Report to XXX and many other hit movies. This car was built for the movie "In Time" starring Justin Timberlake.
Picture Car Warehouse purchased this car from the collection of Jon Pollock, who has built cars for Nic Cage and many other high dollar clients. This vehicle was in the middle of a restoration when the car was purchased and customized by our staff at Picture Car Warehouse. Jon had just completed the drivetrain, which included parts of the engine being chromed and polished. The 4.2 purrs like a Kitten and runs like the cat that it is. Over $20,000 has been invested in the Drivetrain.
The movie was a futuristic based story and required a very special look, as can be seen in the pictures. Liking the look of the d type Jaguar, Harold shaved all bumpers, took out the side windows, capped the doors, removed the top, inserted a custom tonneau cover and a fantastic chrome paint job.
After the designs were given to us, it was time for our staff to build the car to match his drawings. The bumpers were removed and all holes filled with metal, including the license plate insert on the rear end. The car was rust free and stripped down, massaged, and prepped for paint. The Alsa Chrome paint is quite a process to apply. First step is to prime and block sand twice, then apply three coats of black base and three coats of clear. When ready, it is color sanded and then the mirror chrome is applied and then three more coats of color. The finish on this car is beyond description. The interior was then redone in a blood red color that complements the exterior color so well. Finishing it off with the euro style covered headlights.
Picture Car Warehouse is proud to offer this car from our collection. There are no disappointments in this car and it is a one of a kind. We built four Jaguars for the movie with this one being the hero. No money was spared in the building of this car and no corners cut. This is the car that the Actor drove and was on the red carpet at the premiere. When we put an actor in the car it has to be perfect and can't be used for stunts. In the tradition of the So Cal hotrod culture this vehicle will be a welcome addition to your collection and will never go down in value.
