Opening bid $12,000.00 (Reserve not met), no bids yet, 3 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1969 series II roadster that is about half restored. The car has been in storage since 1978. The bonnet came off of another series II and was completely disassembled, repaired and re-assembled. It is about 95 percent. It need a few more coats of primer, feathered in, and fitted to the car. The rest of the body needs to be stripped, some rusty areas repaired, floor pans, and behind the seat areas. The engine has been completely re-built with all new parts, including timing chains, bearings, gaskets, seals, and intake valves. The head was re-built by a professional automotive machine shop. All of the components of the engine were well within original factory specifications. The cylinders only had about .0015 ridge. The carburators need to be rebuilt. The exhaust manifolds had been broken, from an apparent collision, and repaired. The transmission looks like new inside and the front and rear seals have been replaced. The clutch, water pump and alternator have been professionally rebuilt. The exhaust system is gone, the interior is fair, but all original and the top needs replaced. The frame for the top is good. The wheels and tires need replaced. The chrome is all there and the front bumpers and parts have been re-chromed. They are not perfect, and the front over-riders need to be replaced. The rear chrome parts are very good, but need to be re-chromed. The rear end in the car is good, but has not been disassembled or gone through. This car is totally in pieces. All parts are there with the exception of the chrome rings that go around the lower part of the headlamp cavities.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
