Sellers description:
Jaguar E TYPE roadster PROJECT car. Not road worthy. Needs mechanical and body work. Series 1 cars are getting so expensive that a series 2 may be the next best model if you want an E-TYPE . Needs lots of work and missing lots of items- top, bumpers, lights, trim, interior, passenger seat, windshield, air filer, etc. Trunk lid and bottom of doors are solid with zero rust. Inner and outer rocker panels and rear panels replaced years ago . Bonnet is really good shape with minor rust underside above the area of the battery. Wheels are rusty and some spokes are broken. Car will start with some effort but carbs need to be rebuilt or replaced. Wiring has been repaired so really needs new wiring harness. Does have a new gas tank and exhaust from engine back- Car rolls and steers but not drive-able. Clutch master cylinder does not work. Odometer shows 65,713 but not sure if accurate .Car was driven by customer to shop for repairs over 25 years ago and has sat ever since. I was going to make this a driver car for myself but plans have changed. I recall that the engine does not match. New York State does not issue titles for cars of this vintage- just a transferable registration. I know really nothing about the history of this car- I bought from garage where car sat.

1969 Jaguar etype series 2 ready for restoration-a few days of body work and it should be ready for prier and paint- dont buy a rust busket and end up paying someone thousands in labor costs to do rust repair ! there is no rusty body panels- inner and outer rockers have been replaced and it looks like passenger floor and both rear bottoms under the rear quarter panels- new gas tank-new exhaust-car has been sitting inside for about 25 years-car will start with some effort- runs good but i do hear some rattling- i know the distributor is loose. Car is missing most body chrome- top frame and passenger seat- interior-will need 4 wheels and 4 tires. i have found most of the missing parts used online- I was going to just buy all the parts and put it back together- I have access to a body and paint shop- bonnet is already at shop being prepared for paint- body will be next- good candidate for a daily driver- if you can do the work yourself that is best- i was planning on replacing the wiring harness - i have several used carbs- was going to go through what i have and rebuild. This is a project...and needs work-I do not know about history of the car.
