7/16/04 Car found for sale at:
www.classicjaguar.com/610469.html

Sellers description:
Restoration project E Type roadsters really are getting harder and harder to find. Accordingly, we are pleased to offer this 1969 Series Two roadster that was apparently brought over from Spain many years ago by a member of the Unites States military. Although the car obviously requires a total restoration, it is by no means as daunting a project as many that we have seen - and actually has a number of redeeming features! The engine number matches the data plate (gearbox number not checked as centre console is still installed).

Certain areas of the bodywork on this particular car are in unusually solid condition, such as the doors, bonnet, boot compartment and the outer sills and wings. Unfortunately, there is some significant corrosion in the forward section of the inner sills and also in the main floor panels. Realistically, this car needs new floors and sills. There a few dents here and there, the worst of which are in the mouth of the bonnet and under the bellypan, although really nothing serious.

The engine bay appears to be relatively unmolested and complete and the car is not missing any significant components. The lower edge of the picture frame has taken something of a beating from repeated jacking, although there is no significant collision damage evident anywhere. The convertible top frame will need to be repaired as one of the bows has been damaged.

Price: $12,000

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
