Ebay item 8/29/21
www.ebay.com/itm/373701740782
Car has a buy it now price of $69,900 for 29 days, seller kurttannermotorcars, 27k miles.
Seller's description:
1969 JAGUAR E-TYPE XKE S2 4.2 LITER ROADSTER. PALE BLUE, NAVY BLUE TRIM, BLACK TOP. 4-SPEED, AIR CONDITIONING, CHROME WIRE WHEELS AND LUGGAGE RACK. DESIRABLE SERIES ONE ENCLOSED HEADLIGHT BONNET. VERY GOOD DRIVER. This car was purchased out of an estate collection last year in Louisiana where it had a cosmetic refresh in 2009 that included new paint, some chrome, upholstery, and soft top.
Bodywork and paint on this car are very good. Panel gapping is very decent but could use some fine tuning as far as the bonnet fit is concerned. Paintwork is now 12 years old and is showing well. Recently we noticed a blister on the driver’s side upper B-post around the soft top mount. The car presents very well overall for a driver with nice chrome, rubber, glass, glossy paintwork in a nice color…
The car’s interior features a near perfect original dashboard facia, perfect top pad, great Dark Blue wool carpets, nice panel kit, new black soft top fitted. Seats are decent but could be improved with a reupholstering in a better match of Navy blue leather…
Mechanically, the car is excellent. The engine block has been replaced at some point with an earlier Series One unit. The engine starts easily on the key, revs well and smooth with good oil pressure and transmits power through an excellent shifting full syncromesh transmission. Clutch action feels good. Brakes are a little soft and could use attention, as sometimes there is also some light drag, probably from storage. Nevertheless, the car drives very well out on the road and would only need some minor attention.
Overall, a very attractive and handsome E-type Roadster in nice colors, easy to live with. This car could use a few cosmetic and mechanical fixes, and will be a lovely investment in an open Jaguar to enjoy going forward.
