I'm now the proud owner of this 1969 E-Type, having purchased it from Heritage Classics in June. The car arrived back in the UK in August. It was then taken to a Jaguar specialist in September for some remedial work and I collected it in Oct. As I write I'm just waiting for it to be issued with its UK registration

Since my last post the e-type is now MOT'd (safety certificate) and UK registered. I've put a few hundred miles on the car and it drives really well. I have also had the seats recovered, and some cosmetic work done to the body (dents removed, paint touched up). It's now a well sorted car with a nice original patina.

1969 LHD Jaguar E-Type Series 2 4.2 litre Roadster in Primrose Yellow with complementary black hood and interior.
I bought this matching numbers E-Type in California, where the Title shows it was first registered in 1969, and has never left the State, so this is a true dry State car. The car came with an invoice from 2014 showing that the previous owner had spent $4,300 on the car.
Bodywork
The body work is straight and totally rust free. Having spent nearly 50 years in the California sunshine the Primrose yellow paint is showing its age in places and there is evidence of crazing and light touch ups. The chrome brightwork is B+ standard with only minor blemishes. The black vinyl hood had a small tear which has been professionally repaired, the rear screen is clear and crack free.
The five chrome wire wheels and tyres are as new and come with the earlier and more desirable eared spinners.
Engine and running gear
I took the E-Type to a leading independent E-Type specialist who I've known for over 20 years. At a cost of over £4,600 they went through the car from top to bottom, work included; a complete rebuild of the handbrake mechanism and the front and rear brakes, removal and refurb of the steering column, overhaul of the suspension, all work needed to pass a UK MOT.
Being a later US spec this car is fitted with twin Stromberg's. The engine has plenty of power, with effortless acceleration. The gear changes are smooth and it stops and starts as it should.
Interior
The cockpit is a great place to be. The black leather seats have been professionally recovered using upholstery kits supplied by BAS International. The door cards have also been replaced and there are new carpets throughout. The car also benefits from a working period FM/AM radio.
Summary
This car is a true dry State, matching numbers, rust free E-Type Roadster, which is in tip top mechanical condition. All the leg work associated with US imports has been done, the car is UK registered and ready to enjoy. If you're looking for an E-Type that you can jump into, turn the key and head off into the sunset, then this could be the one for you. It will be sold with a new MOT.

Chassis J691R8116. NUD21 is a good looking car as well it might be having been treated to a full bare metal respray in its original eye catching colour of Primrose Yellow. A left hand drive Series 2 export model when built it has since been converted to right hand drive, though it retains its original Stromberg carburettors; home market cars breath through a trio of SUs. This Jaguar was gifted to the vendor by his late mother and father and he classes the four speed manual transmission, roadster bodywork and paintwork as excellent and the straight six engine and black leather upholstery as good. He is now selling this attractive E Type complete with a blue tooth stereo system. The odometer presently indicates a totally credible though unwarranted total mileage of 72,372.
Note: The current registration, NUD21 will be held on retention. The UK registration MCK504G will be reissued to the car.
