Imported into the Netherlands from the United States in 2014 for restoration. Sold by Witmer and Odijk Classic and Special Cars in May 2017. Abbreviated seller's description below. The URL is

Restoration: This E Type roadster was completely restored in 2015 and 2016; in fact, a 'new' Jaguar was built, although of course retaining the originality. The body and frame were reduced to bare metal, every spot weld clearly revealed, and the car painted in its original colour without welding or filler all of which was well documented and photographed. The work was performed by experienced Jaguar specialists and a complete record of all the work done comes with the car. From this one can see how the mechanics were completely overhauled, the upholstery and hood renovated, a Getrag 5 speed gearbox fitted, and the engine given three European carburettor settings.
Exterior: This roadster's tight body is a stylish dark grey metallic (Opalescent Silver Grey). Equipped with the most beautiful and symmetrical lines one can see on an E Type. Flawless paintwork, applied to un-welded, flawless metal sheeting. The chrome and all bumpers are new. The hood frame was newly powder coated. This is what an E Type looked like in the brochure.
Interior: No detail overlooked inside. All gauges and dials were revised to function properly. New floor upholstery, new leather on the seats and headrests. Everything as it should be originally. The adjustable wooden steering wheel is also original and flawless.
Engine, wheels and tyres: The car's original matching engine is suspended in the typical E frame. Completely overhauled and equipped with three carburettors, as standard in Europe. In the United States owing to emissions requirements, the car had two carburettors with the engine delivering 246bhp instead of 265bhp. This E Type has the hard Californian body that people rarely find in Europe, yet combined with European specifications, the best of both worlds. Heightened flexibility and less torque, thanks to the 5 speed Getrag gearbox, very smartly configured. The spoke wheels were newly chromed, and the tyres are also new.
History: This roadster was newly re-built under the guidance of an engineer with a degree of perfectionism that would make a Swiss watchmaker jealous. The perfect balance between originality and practicality. with a strong Californian car serving as the foundation, the complete restoration was performed over two years by Dutch specialists, hired for their expertise and specialisation in E Types. Perfectly executed, visibly, tangibly and especially noticeably when driving.
