For sale at BAM Specialist Cars of Clay Cross for £99,995. Seller's description below.

Probably one of the finest examples of the Series II drophead available today, that would warrant any inspection or test. The car was imported from the United States where it was supplied to Mr JE Harrell Jnr of Houston Texas until it was imported into the UK in 1989, where it has had 3 keepers. The original supplying documentation and service passport are still with the car. Around 2008 the car underwent an exhaustive restoration to the bare frame, where every component was serviced and or replaced. A bare metal respray was undertaken resulting in the unblemished vehicle you see today. Notable changes that were made to the US specification were RHD conversion, triple carburettors and diff replacement to European specification, also small details such as windscreen wipers settings along with differential settings. The restoration works are supported by a large collection of colour detailing the process. Following restoration the car covered around 22,000 miles until it again changed hands to its current documented owner, who used the car sparingly until 2012 when it was then laid up in dry storage. We have had the car recommissioned by a renowned E Type specialist, who has verified the car is an exceptionally good shape.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
